Dr. Ernesto R. Cruz joined Arizona Heart Institute (AHI) as an invasive
cardiologist in 1998. Prior to coming to AHI, Dr. Cruz practiced with The
Heart Center in Bakersfield, California. Dr. Cruz is board certified by the
American Board of Internal Medicine both in Cardiology and Internal
Medicine. He has been practicing cardiology for more than 10 years in
California and Arizona.
Dr. Cruz received his medical degree from the University of the East in the
Philippines. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Saint
Raphael Hospital, an affiliate of Yale University, School of Medicine in
New Haven, Connecticut and Maricopa Medical Center, an affiliate of the
University of Arizona, Medical School in Phoenix, Arizona. From there,
Dr. Cruz went to the University of California, San Francisco to complete
his three-year cardiology fellowship training. Dr. Cruz has been in practice
in Arizona since 1998.
Dr. Cruz is a member of the American College of Physicians and the
American College of Cardiology. He has been actively involved in research
studies involving hypertension and vascular response as well as heart failure.
Dr. Cruz has extensive experience in diagnostic cardiac catheterization,
nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, holter and general cardiology. Dr.
Cruz provides services at Arizona Heart Institute main office located in central Phoenix.
