Dr. Robert K. Strumpf joined the Arizona Heart Institute (AHI) in 1992 after completing a one-year interventional cardiovascular fellowship with AHI. Over the last several years, he has been recognized for his expertise in coronary stents, atherectomy, and lasers.
As a leader of these state-of-the-art therapies, Dr. Strumpf has brought new technological advancements to rural communities throughout Arizona. He is the director of interventional cardiology and is also medical director of the Acute Cardiovascular Treatment (ACT) Program, which offers 24-hour consultations to physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular medical emergencies.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Harvard, he received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Strumpf then completed his internship, residency and cardiovascular fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Board certified in cardiology and internal medicine, Dr. Strumpf has extensive experience in cardiovascular research and has published several papers on new interventions. Dr. Strumpf provides services at the AHI main office located in central Phoenix.
