Mark J.  Seifert , MD

Electrophysiologist

Dr. Mark Seifert joined the Arizona Heart Institute (AHI) in November 2004, as an Electrophysiologist. Prior to joining AHI, Dr. Seifert was a clinical instructor of medicine at UCLA Medical School.

Dr. Seifert earned his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY at Binghamton and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship training at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Hospital, Boston where he had a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology. He completed his Electrophysiology training at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. His academic honors include Phi Beta Kappa and the American Federation for Clinical Research, Trainee Investigation Award. Dr. Seifert has published several papers and abstracts in leading medical journals, and has presented his research at international meetings. He has received several grants to support basic research, and participates in Muticenter Clinical Trials to offer his patients access to the most up-to-date therapies and devices.

Dr. Seifert is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and has an Added Qualification in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (commonly referred to as Board Certification in Electrophysiology). He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Dr. Seifert has research interests including non-pharmacologic therapy for artial fibrillation, mechanisms of atrial arrhythmias; pacemaker/ defibrillator lead and device technology, and new indications for ICD and pacemaker therapy. He will provide services the AHI main location in central Phoenix.
