With 33 years of experience as a Cardiovascular Surgeon, Dr. Zamorano joined the Arizona Heart Institute in January 2008.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile in 1971. After completing his General Surgery Residency at San Borja Hospital he completed a Fellowship in Cardiac and Vascular Surgery with the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Zamorano spent four years in private practice in Payson, Arizona before returning to Santiago where he began the development of the San Borja Hospital Cardiovascular Program in Santiago, Chile.
Dr. Zamorano directed the Cardiovascular Surgical Program at San Borja Hospital, a 600 bed facility referral center for cardiovascular disease, in addition to working as an assistant professor at the University of Chile Medical School and Residency Program.
Dr. Zamorano’s memberships include the Board of the Chilean Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery Examiner Commission University of Chile Medical School, International Society for Endovascular Surgery, International Society of Endovascular Specialists and the Edward B. Diethrich Vascular Surgical Society.
He provides services at the Arizona Heart Institute Payson Clinic, including cardiac surgery, vascular surgery and cardiology at the Payson Regional Medical Center and at the Arizona Heart Hospital.
