Once a diagnosis is made, members of your health-care team at the Arizona Heart Institute assemble to choose and provide the very best care for your condition. Many forms of cardiovascular treatment can be delivered on an outpatient basis. If your care requires that you be admitted to the hospital, we will arrange for you to receive treatment at the Arizona Heart Hospital.
Your health-care team may decide that the best care for you could be a new drug or procedure that is currently under investigation. Such therapies are evaluated in clinical trials, which are designed to determine whether or not a new treatment is safe and effective.

Clinical Research Studies
Arizona Heart Institute physicians are leaders in cardiovascular research, participating as investigators in a variety of leading-edge studies. Such studies enable us to work with the latest technologies and offer you the most advanced care possible.
Your health-care team may decide that the best care for you could be a new drug or procedure that is currently under investigation. Such therapies are evaluated in clinical trials, which are designed to determine whether or not a new treatment is safe and effective. By participating in a clinical trial, you may receive tomorrow's cardiovascular drugs or procedures today. Patients who participate in clinical trials contribute enormously to the development of novel therapies that continue to improve medical care.
Your participation in a clinical trial is entirely voluntary. Should you decide to participate, you may benefit from free medical care for any examinations and procedures related to the study. Any medications prescribed for you in the study are free, as may be any new devices under study. All participants in clinical trials receive close medical supervision by a medical doctor.
The Interventional Research Department conducts FDA approved clinical studies using devices and drugs, as well as procedures, for patients with cardiovascular conditions. For more information regarding the studies we are currently conducting, please call extension 602-266-2200 extension 4474.
