“After my procedure, I would have been afraid to exercise if this program and monitoring were not available.”
Studies show that daily exercise and behavior modification can slow the progression of heart and vascular disease. Arizona Heart Institute’s cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to empower you to prevent cardiovascular disease and achieve health for life through a personalized health and fitness plan. Our expert staff designs and monitors a daily exercise regimen for each patient. We also examine and help eliminate risk factors. The end result is a more complete recovery and improvement in your quality of life.
By participating in this program, you may experience:
- A faster recovery
- Reduced post-surgical complications
- Increased strength and endurance
- Reduced stress
- Reduced risk of future heart problems
- An increased chance of living longer
- We develop and monitor a comprehensive 36-session exercise program for those who have recently (within the past year) experienced any of the following:
- Stable chest pain (angina)
- Heart attack
- Balloon angioplasty or stent placement
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Valve replacement or repair
- Heart transplantation
Virtually anyone can benefit from cardiac rehabilitation. No one is too old or too young; and women and men can benefit equally. Depending on your overall health and cardiovascular history, we can design a health-oriented program based on your individual needs.
Adult Fitness Program
For patients who have completed Phase II Rehabilitation, the Adult Fitness Program provides a way to maintain their new healthy lifestyle. It can also be used by individuals who do not qualify for Phase II Rehabilitation but would benefit from a cardiovascular risk factor modification program. There is no time limit for Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation, but a small fee (which is not covered by insurance) is charged monthly.
Cardiovascular rehabilitation changes your life. It can help you achieve a faster, more complete recovery and provide you with the best chance for healthy tomorrows. The program is available to you with a referral from your physician. Please contact your personal physician if you’re interested in learning more.
